# AI and VoIP

The introduction of ChatGPT elevated the AI acronym to an everyday word.  Nearly all technology companies now have AI branded marketing and roadmaps.  Even technologies that have been around for years are being branded under this new AI umbrella (ie: text-to-speech and speech-to-text technologies).

The main technology advancement is the exposure of Large Language Models (LLMs - think ChatGPT) to the masses.  Initial iterations of this were entirely based on text input and output.  As this technology advances we are now seeing the introduction of natural speech interfaces.  This includes the ability to provide input via your voice and receive the results as spoken text, to create robot like conversational capabilities.  This is driving more wide spread use of the WebRTC VoIP based technology that is now embedded in all major browsers.  It is only natural that video will not be far behind, and you can start to interact with life like AI avatars.

AI is posed to facilitate huge advancements in how we work and how we live.  Exciting times ahead!
